Study the people who tend to live the longest and healthiest.
And one of the best examples lives right here in the United States: the Amish.
Back in the early 1900s, the Amish were routinely living into their 70s, while the average life expectancy for everyone else in the U.S. was less than 50.
And the Amish don’t just live longer… they maintain their health longer into their senior years.
Here’s how they do it… and how YOU can start doing it, too.
It all comes down to one simple factor: Lifestyle.
The Amish live in a non-motorized, agrarian communities.
They’re not surrounded by the dangerous electromagnetic fields.
They work the land, which means they’re much more likely to follow their body’s natural circadian rhythm. They’re less likely to expose themselves to massive amounts of blue light at night.
And since they don’t use motorized farm equipment, they’re actively using their bodies every day just to carry out the tasks of living.
To track just how active the Amish were compared to non-Amish, one group of researchers had a group of Amish people wear pedometers to measure their physical activity. The average man took over 18,000 steps per day, and the average woman took over 14,000.
Compare this to the mere 5,000 steps that most Americans are estimated to take.
Another factor that you can’t overlook is that all of that activity—coupled with the home cooking (as opposed to processed, chemical-laden foods in the typical American diet)—means that obesity is practically unheard of in this community.
And since obesity is one of the primary contributing factors to cancer and other serious health conditions, it’s no wonder this community is so much healthier than the typical American.
So does all of this mean you should take up farming? If you want to, go for it!
But it’s not necessary.
The important things to take away from this group of people is that they have a much more natural way of life. And you can make changes to incorporate some of these good habits right from the comfort of your own home.
Some of the best things you can do include seeing the sunrise every morning, being more active during the day, staying away from processed foods (shop the perimeter of the grocery store!), and avoiding blue light at night.
