100-Year-Old Cure DESTROYS Deadly Infections
If you’ve even been to the hospital, you already know that it’s one of the scariest places in the world.
Because you only go to the hospital when something is really wrong with your health.
Maybe you’re there for a minor procedure… or maybe you’re there for a serioussurgery… maybe you’ve had an accident.
But there’s something you should be more afraid of than the reason for your visit: A deadly infection.
You see, healthcare-associated infections impact 1 in 25 inpatients – and kill more than 100,000 people every year.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is that researchers have finally discovered a solution that can knock out almost 100% of pathogens in operating rooms.
It’s a simple, century-old solution that could save thousands of lives.
The answer isn’t found in better cleaning methods or stronger chemical disinfectants… it’s found in light.
In a study published in the American Journal of Infection Control, researchers examined a type of UV light technology called PurpleSun.
Researchers put the UV light to the test against over 3,000 microbiological samples from 100 different surgical cases at three different hospitals.
The result?
The simple power of light was able to eliminate 97.7% of pathogens.
The idea isn’t to replace current cleaning and disinfecting practicesbut to take over where the standard treatments stop.
It’s the clean-up crew that cleans up after the clean-up crew.
By optimizing the cleanliness of the environment, UV light kills off the very pathogens that evade standard cleaning practices and wreak havoc in healthcare settings.
It’s really no wonder infections run rampant in hospital settings.
Most of the patients have compromised immune systems, making them more vulnerable from the get-go. Other people especially at risk, include those who have catheters, have had surgery, or have gotten a shot.
Even if the infection doesn’t kill you, it can lead to severe, debilitating complications.
I’m glad to see that the medical system is finally waking up to the disinfecting properties of UV light. I just wish it had happened sooner.
After all, the first study showing that sunlight can prohibit the growth of microorganisms was published way back in 1877.
It might have taken over 140 years, but I’m thankful UV light is finally getting its day in the sun.
