The One “Diet” Food You Should NEVER Eat
Dear Reader,
For decades, artificial sweeteners seemed like a miracle food.
Zero calories and yet hundreds of times sweeter than sugar.
But when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
And if you’re one of the millions stocking up on “diet”-this, and “sugar-free”-that, in an effort to watch your waistline, I have news for you.
Artificial sweeteners could be sabotaging your diet…and your health.
A new report was just published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal that reviewed 37 studies involving more than 400,000 people over a period of 10 years.
Their goal was simple: to determine once and for all if artificial sweeteners help you lose weight.
The short answer – not by a long shot!
But here’s the real kicker: the people who drank the most artificially sweetened beverages actually GAINED weight, and were more likely to have health problems like heart disease and diabetes.
Now, plenty of people will read this study and come to the conclusion that artificial sweeteners cause weight gain.
If that’s your takeaway, you’re missing the forest for the trees.
Folks, the problem isn’t the artificial sweeteners.
The problem is that people think they can stuff their faces with fast food, chips, ice cream, and candy – and then think that consuming a sugar-substitute will somehow magically cancel out the impact the rest of this crap has on your body.
Newsflash!
There are NO QUICK FIXES when it comes to eating healthy and losing weight.
But what makes these fake sugars even worse is that they have plenty of real health consequences.
Hundreds of studies have been done on the health hazards aspartame alone, and it has been linked to everything from joint pain and depression, to memory loss and brain cancer.
Artificial sweeteners also alter your taste buds, making you crave sweeter and sweeter foods. It’s a vicious cycle that literally feeds into the obesity and diabetes epidemic.
Even if you’re not one to reach for those pink, blue, or yellow sugar packets, you could still be loading up on this stuff without even realizing it.
Whether it’s aspartame, saccharin, or sucralose, these chemical sugars can be found in sodas, gum, baked goods, ice cream, candy – you name it.
Any time you see words like “diet,” “no sugar added,” “low calorie,” and “sugar free,” it’s a dead giveaway that the product has artificial sweeteners.
If you see those labels, STAY AWAY.
If you have a sweet tooth, feed it with NATURAL sugars – like the kind found in fruit and honey.
To a brighter day,
