The “Healthy” Habit That’s Poisoning You
It’s one of the greatest threats to your health—but it’s not smoking, stress, or junk food.
Instead, it’s a slow, invisible toxin that’s causing increasing damage to your body and your mind.
Now, research confirms that millions of Americans who think they’re doing something good for their bodies are unknowingly poisoning themselves daily—all in the name of convenience.
Every time you choose to buy bottled water instead of a soda, you probably think you’re making a healthy choice.
But there’s a hidden threat lurking in those bottles, and it could make you VERY sick.
You see, every time you take a sip, you’re not just getting that “pure mountain spring water” advertised on the label.
Instead, every swallow delivers thousands of microscopic plastic particles directly into your bloodstream.
A review of 140 studies revealed that the average person consumes 39,000 to 52,000 microplastic particles yearly. But those who regularly use single-use plastic water bottles consume 90,000 additional particles per year.
Here’s why this is a problem.
A study published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials found that chronic exposure to the tiny plastic fragments from single-use bottles poses serious health risks. It triggers chronic inflammation, damages your cells, and disrupts your hormones.
It could even trigger cancer, with links to lung, colorectal, breast, and ovarian cancer, as well as cancers affecting the blood, prostate, and liver.
Those are the short-term risks. We haven’t even begun to study the long-term health effects.
In the meantime, millions are blindly poisoning themselves in the name of convenience.
So, what can you do?
Realistically, you can’t avoid all exposure to dangerous nano- and microplastics. But you can easily slash your exposure by as much as 90,000 particles PER YEAR by ditching the single-use water bottles.
When I carry water with me, I use a stainless-steel bottle—preferably filled with spring water from my local source.
The less plastic I have touching my food, the better.
