“Nature’s Best” Fights Cold and Flu
Reduced symptoms, faster recovery
The runny nose, constant sneezing, the tickle in the back of your throat, the dry cough.
You know the signs… winter cold and flu season is about to be upon us again.
Even if you’re taking all the “right steps” for prevention, you could still end up with one of the 1 billion colds people experience every winter.
Most people reach for over-the-counter drugs to help reduce symptoms.
But nature has a better option.
It’s a solution that’s been proven to reduce symptoms AND help you get better, faster.
Feeling that initial tickle in the back of your throat?
Time to reach for some zinc.
Previous studies have shown that taking it at the first sign of a cold can help reduce symptoms and speed recovery.
And now, a study published in BMJ Open adds even more evidence to support the need for zinc this winter.
After reviewing more than 24 clinical trials including 5,400 adults, here’s what the researchers found. Compared to placebo:
- Zinc nasal sprays and lozenges prevented five new respiratory tract infections per 100 people every month.
- Zinc’s greatest effects were seen in reducing the risk of severe symptoms like fever and flu-like symptoms.
- Zinc sprays or liquid formulations taken under the tongue cleared symptoms an average of two days sooner.
- Those who used nasal spray or sublingual were twice as likely to recover in the first week.
- Zinc use was associated with reduced symptom severity by the third day of illness.
- There were no serious side effects.
I recommend keeping zinc in your medicine cabinet all year round, and taking it at the first sign of a cold.
Why suffer for even one day longer than necessary?
