The Best Anti-Aging Technique
It out-performed three popular drugs
Everyone wants something for nothing these days.
But I believe that if something is really worth having, you have to work for it.
That’s as true for landing a good job or driving a nice car as it is for maintaining your health and longevity.
Of course, drug companies make you think you can get something for nothing…
Like drugs that lower your blood pressure (without exercising).
Or ones that manage your blood sugar (without cutting out the cake).
But are these drugs REALLY the best way to combat aging and disease?
No surprise here, but the answer is NO.
I could have told you that from personal experience—both with myself AND with my patients.
But this study published in Cell Metabolism Journal put three popular drugs against DIET in a head-to-head competition.
This team of researchers had already shown that overall diet—and the specific combination of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates—could have protective effects against every major condition you can think of:
- Heart disease
- Obesity
- Immune dysfunction
- Metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes
- And even aging itself.
But since many drugs target the same biochemical pathways as the nutrients in food, they wanted to see which was more powerful.
In this pre-clinical mouse study, the researchers found that NUTRITION (including overall calories and macronutrient balance) had a greater impact on aging and metabolic health than three common drugs designed to impact those very things.
In particular, diet had the strongest impact on the liver.
They also found that the food you eat directly impacts the processes operating in your cells.
For example, they found that the amount of protein you eat influenced the activity of your mitochondria (the parts of your cell that create energy). This ultimately impacted how accurately cells translated their genes into the different proteins needed to help cells function properly.
These processes are directly linked to aging.
Here’s what all of this boils down to:
Your diet is your most powerful weapon against diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and even aging.
Big Pharma keeps trying to develop drugs that can impact your health in the same way as a healthy diet.
And their efforts fall short every time.
Like I said, there are no short cuts.
But the hard work is worth it. Every time.
