Eat THIS for a Longer Life
I don’t want to live a long life.
I want to live a long, healthy life.
Unfortunately, while lifespans have been increasing in recent years, so have major health problems like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis.
That’s why I was excited about a recent study that showed a simple way to lower your risk of dying from some of the top killers.
A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.
But with a tablespoon of olive oil, you might not need any medicine at all.
Researchers analyzed data on over 90,000 people over 28 years who completed food questionnaires every four years.
It turns out that people who regularly consumed olive oil had some MAJOR health advantages. In fact, those who had just HALF a tablespoon or more of olive oil per day had a:
- 19 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease
- 17 percent lower risk of dying from cancer
- 18 percent lower risk of dying from lung disease
- 29 percent lower risk of dying from neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s
Here’s something else the researchers noticed: People who consumed more olive oil also tended to be more physically active and eat more fruit and vegetables.
So it’s likely that olive oil is part of an overall healthy diet that can help you live a long healthy life.
But it’s an important piece of the longevity puzzle.
Other studies have shown that olive oil can help reduce stroke risk and can help stave off dementia.
It’s also consistently been found to be part of the diets of people who have the longest, healthiest lifespans.
