COVID Study: Higher Risk of Severe Infection for THIS group
Avoid this one factor that increases risk of serious disease and death
Infection with COVID-19 doesn’t have to be a death sentence.
The healthier you are, the lower the risk of being hospitalized or of dying from COVID-19.
On the other hand, numerous health conditions have been shown to increase the risk of severe COVID-19… like chronic kidney disease, chronic lung disease, type 2 diabetes, heart conditions, and even obesity.
But you don’t have to suffer from a serious condition to face the risk of hospitalization or death from COVID-19.
In fact, studies have shown that a simple nutrient deficiency can make you 14 times more likely to end up in severe or critical condition.
You may have already guessed that I’m referring to vitamin D.
Study after study has shown that higher levels of this vitamin are connected to reduced severity of COVID-19.
Despite the evidence, some people still try to cast doubt on its effectiveness.
After all, if you can’t depend on your own immune system to keep you safe, you’ll be forced to turn to Big Pharma for protection.
But it’s becoming more difficult to refute the evidence.
Last summer, researchers published shocking findings showing that 26 percent of hospitalized coronavirus patients DIED if they were deficient in vitamin D shortly before hospitalization—compared to just THREE PERCENT of patients who had normal levels of vitamin D.
Those deficient in vitamin D were also 14 times more likely to end up in severe or critical condition.
Based on this study, you could say that your vitamin D levels could be the difference between life and death.
But some people questioned the validity of this study, arguing that patients deficient in vitamin D could have been suffering from a condition that both reduces D levels and increases their susceptibility to serious illness.
To rule out this possibility, the researchers reviewed the patients’ vitamin D levels over the two years prior to their infection with COVID-19.
Long story short, the new study confirmed the findings of the original study… with lower levels of vitamin D increasing the risk of serious infection.
Folks, there are so many reasons to maintain healthy blood levels of vitamin D.
If COVID-19 had never reared its ugly head, it would STILL be just as vital to your health to keep your levels up.
But COVID-19 does exist, and studies showing vitamin D’s protective effect seem to pop up almost every day.
To boost your body’s levels, spend plenty of time in the sun throughout the day. If necessary, take a supplement to boost your level of vitamin D—and with it, your level of protection against COVID-19.
