[Revealed!] Nature’s Best Disinfectant
The new technology that kills MRSA, E.coli, and more
When COVID-19 first struck, people became obsessed with disinfecting every item they touched, whether it was the handle of the grocery cart… or every single grocery item they brought into their house.
We’ve since learned that COVID-19 is mainly spread by respiratory droplets, and not by surface transmission.
But there are plenty of OTHER potentially infectious viruses, bacteria, germs, yeasts, and molds that live on surfaces that can make you sick.
And crowded places like airports are prime territory for spreading viruses and germs at an alarming rate.
Fortunately, a company has developed a completely natural, chemical-free way to disinfect surfaces.
This product is currently being touted for use in airports, but it could be the future of chemical-free disinfecting in everything from hospitals to your house.
Did you know that the sun is a natural disinfectant?
UV light has been shown to kill bacteria and to reduce fungal infections on clothes.
Sunlight is regularly used to disinfect drinking water in countries where more “modern” technologies aren’t available.
Hospitals even harness the power of UV rays to disinfect surfaces.
Now, airports could also benefit from “smart” windows that allow natural sunlight through to disinfect surfaces.
In a study using an environmental chamber, researchers placed cultures of pathogenic bacteria and fungi—like MRSA, E. coli, and black mold—in the chamber and measured their growth after being exposed to daylight through these “smart” windows.
There was a nearly 100 percent reduction in these pathogens when the windows were in their clear state, and a 40-100 percent reduction when the windows were tinted.
As airports around the world work on ways to create cleaner, safer spaces, many modernization projects are planning to implement these types of windows in the future.
But why limit them to airports… and why wait for the future?
With spring right around the corner, you can put sunlight’s disinfecting properties to work for you right now.
For starters, open up those windows and let the sunlight in. Rooms exposed to sunlight have up to 50 percent fewer bacteria than dark rooms.
Hang your laundry outside to dry.
You can even use sunlight to kill mold on hard surfaces.
When it comes to sunlight and surfaces, the more the better.
