“Bad” Food Reverses Pre-Diabetes?
Pre-diabetes is a major health threat to millions of Americans.
Even though one in three Americans is estimated to have the condition, 80 percent don’t know it.
Besides the obvious increased risk of type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes could cause long-term damage to your blood vessels, kidneys, eyes, and heart, leading to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and more.
Now, it turns out that one of the most maligned foods of the past few decades could be the KEY to reversing pre-diabetes.
Pre-diabetes occurs when your blood sugar level is higher than it should be, but not in the range to be diagnosed with full-blown diabetes.
It’s also reversible.
In a nine-year study, researchers followed 334 pre-diabetic patients to see how eating whole-fat dairy affected their condition.
Volunteers who ate more than 230 grams daily of whole-fat dairy had significantly lower fasting and 2-hour serum glucose concentrations over time.
Eating more than 200 grams of high-fat dairy was ALSO connected to a greater chance of reversing pre-diabetes.
This was especially the case with yogurt and milk.
This latest study is in lock-step with the recent FDA ruling I told you about last week. In short, yogurt manufacturers can now use a qualified health claim stating that regularly eating yogurt could reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.
See, the problem with taking a perfect food like whole milk and stripping it of its fat content is that the sugar in the milk makes a beeline for your bloodstream.
This can send your blood sugar levels skyrocketing.
The FAT content in dairy slows down how quickly sugar is absorbed into the body, which is excellent for blood sugar.
It also helps you feel fuller, longer.
Whole, unadulterated milk is already in the perfect package for your body.
This is why I ONLY drink milk whole—and raw—the way Nature intended.
It’s good for your waistline, your blood sugar levels… and your tastebuds, too. (It’s delicious!)
