This Blood Sugar Fix is NUTS
Tired of giving up everything you love to chase down perfect blood sugar levels?
I don’t blame you.
Who wants some cranky doctor telling them what they can and can’t eat?
Not me.
So instead of telling you what you CAN’T eat, I’m going to tell you what you CAN.
Because ADDING one simple food to your diet can have a dramatic impact on your blood sugar levels.
And it’s absolutely DELICIOUS.
If you love nuts, you’ll go nuts for this.
According to a recent study published in the journal Diabetologia, tree nuts could be the answer to your blood sugar woes.
For the study, people with type 2 diabetes either ate 2 ounces of nuts per day (that’s about two handfuls of nuts) or three whole wheat muffins a day (in addition to their regular diets).
Compared to those eating the muffins, the nut-eaters experienced dramatically reduced HbA1c levels.
This was a significant finding, since HbA1c (short for glycated hemoglobin) is a measure of long-term blood sugar control.
The worse your control of blood glucose levels, the higher your HbA1c.
And the higher your HbA1c, the higher your risk of cardiovascular disease, nerve pain, vision loss, and more.
This study was done on diabetics. But whether you have diabetes or not, keeping blood sugar levels under control is extremely important.
Bottom line: Eating a few handfuls of nuts might just be one of the easiest ways yet to help manage blood sugar levels.
It sure is one of the tastiest!
To a brighter day,
