Caribbean Fruit SINKS Your Blood Pressure
Move over, broccoli, there’s another health superstar in town.
And this one isn’t shunned by toddlers everywhere (and plenty of adults, too).
It’s a sweet, Caribbean fruit that can lower your blood pressure, your blood sugar, and can even reduce your risk of cancer.
The only problem? Chances are you’ve never heard of it.
If you’ve never seen a guava, it looks like a cross between a pear and a lime. But when you slice into it, you’re greeted by pinkish, salmon-colored flesh that looks more like a watermelon.
And in fact, I’d say it tastes like a cross between a watermelon and a pear.
It’s delicious.
It’s also really good for you.
A 12-week study published in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) found that people who ate ripe guava before their meals reduced their blood pressure by up to 9 points.
They also experienced a nearly 10 percent reduction in cholesterol levels.
But if guava isn’t your cup of tea (or if your local grocery store doesn’t carry it), guava extracts – which you can pick up at your local natural health store – can help lower blood pressure, too.
Other benefits include…
- Improving blood sugar levels and insulin resistance,
- Reducing the pain of menstrual cramps,
- Reducing the intensity of diarrhea,
- Helping treat acne, and
- Boosting immunity.
It can even stop the growth of cancer cells. In fact, one study showed that guava leaf oil was FOUR TIMES more effective than certain cancer drugs at stopping the growth of cancer cells.
