Concerned about COVID-19? Try THIS
There’s a lot we don’t know about the coronavirus.
But here’s what I’ve seen: The healthier you are, the less chance you have of contracting the virus… and the better your chances of having a full recovery if you do.
Along those lines, there’s one key nutrient you’ll want to load up on for added immune support.
Research just found that the most severe cases of coronavirus have a deficiency in this important nutrient.
Vitamins C and D have been the talk of the town when it comes to coronavirus—and various reports indicate that they could potentially have benefits against COVID-19.
But there’s another key nutrient you shouldn’t overlook.
Researchers took a closer look at patients who died of COVID-19 – including folks admitted to the ICU—and found that they all had one thing in common:
Low levels of vitamin K.
The researchers found a clear link between vitamin K deficiency and the severity of COVID-19.
That could be because vitamin K helps combat one of the underlying problems of COVID-19: blood clots.
Vitamin K is especially known for its ability to help regulate blood clotting—and it has protective effects in the lungs as well.
In fact, vitamin K’s blood-thinning properties are so well known that doctors warn patients taking blood thinners like warfarin to monitor their vitamin K intake carefully.
Based on these findings, researchers are working on obtaining funding to conduct a clinical trial on the potential benefits of vitamin K for coronavirus.
That will be a long time coming.
In the meantime, given the connection to the most severe cases—plus its proven benefits for your blood vessels, bones, and lungs—it’s a good idea to boost your levels.
The best way to do that is through vitamin K-rich foods. By far, your best options are green leafy vegetables like spinach, cabbage, and broccoli.
But you can also get some from eggs, fish, and cheese.
