Dodge Disease with the “OTHER Orange” Drink
Chronic inflammation is the ENEMY of good health.
It underlies EVERY condition you can think of, from a simple headache to devastating cancer and from common skin conditions to widespread diabetes.
Inflammation plays a central role in such a wide range of conditions because it damages cells, tissues, DNA, and organs—no matter where they are in your body.
But today, I’ll reveal the name of an ORANGE drink that can slash inflammation and boost immune response. (And no, it’s NOT the one you’re thinking of.)
It’s a powerful 2-for-1 that everyone can benefit from, but few folks take advantage of.
When you hear orange juice, you no doubt think of the fresh-squeezed breakfast favorite.
But there’s ANOTHER inflammation-fighting orange juice that’s PACKED with disease-fighting benefits.
Carrots are an often-overlooked superfood. They’re rich in potent compounds—falcarinol (FaOH) and falcarindiol (FaDOH)—that have anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and anti-tumor properties.
In a recent small study, 14 volunteers had blood samples taken one hour before and one hour after consuming carrot juice.
Half of the blood samples were treated with inflammation-causing lipopolysaccharides (LPS). The researchers wanted to see the carrots’ impact in a normal and an inflammatory environment.
The blood treated with LPS showed SIGNIFICANT increases in cytokines (a clear sign of inflammation).
In THOSE blood samples, drinking carrot juice led to beneficial changes in numerous inflammatory cytokines, including interferon-gamma, IL-17A, IL-17B, IL-17D, and others.
It also boosted the number of anti-inflammatory cytokines (like IL-12 and IL-22).
But the benefits didn’t end there.
The carrot juice activates the innate immune response, which can reduce acute inflammation and help prevent disease.
And incredibly, these changes occurred within just ONE HOUR of drinking the juice!
The new research confirms that knocking down a glass of the OTHER orange juice is a fantastic way to fight back against nearly any disease.
Plus, it’s tasty too.
Making a “carrot shot” a part of your daily routine is a simple, tasty way to support overall good health.
I prefer freshly extracted carrot juice, but many health food stores sell carrot juice by the bottle.
