DOWN Blood Pressure in 6 weeks?! Here’s How
There are some markers of heart health that you can ignore (like your cholesterol levels).
Others you need to pay close attention to… like your blood pressure.
Having hypertension is one of the primary risk factors for heart attacks and strokes.
It’s also one of the easiest to get under control—without taking a single pharmaceutical.
I’ve told you about plenty of ways to improve your BP levels in the past, but today I want to share a new one that’s been shown to significantly lower BP in just six weeks.
Some things get better with age (and I’m not just talking about yours truly).
Things like cheese… wine… garlic.
Yes, garlic!
You’re probably most familiar with the raw garlic bulbs that you can get from the grocery store. This type of garlic has tremendous health benefits.
But there’s another kind—called aged black garlic—that could be especially good for your heart.
During the aging process, the garlic bulbs undergo changes that reduce the strong flavor of the garlic. At the same time, the amount of antioxidants called polyphenols is greatly increased.
And with this boost comes an improvement in its health benefits.
In a recent study, researchers tested the impact of aged black garlic supplements on cardiovascular measures.
After six weeks, those taking the aged black garlic experienced significant drops—nearly six points—in their diastolic blood pressure, compared to the control group.
Two previous studies have shown that aged black garlic can beneficially impact both blood lipids and vascular function.
While this type of garlic makes a great addition to foods like toasted sourdough bread or pizza, you likely won’t be able to eat enough of it to obtain the blood-pressure-lowering benefits seen with the supplement.
P.S. A recent study revealed a simple, five-minute exercise that can lower your blood pressure — and ultimately lower your heart attack risk. Read about it, right here.
