European Tradition SLASHES Heart Attack Risk
It amazes me how often the mainstream medical community gets heart health wrong.
Take statins to lower heart risk… WRONG.
Avoid meat to help you heart… WRONG.
Even the new blood pressure guidelines? You guessed it… WRONG.
Now, the list just got longer.
Because there’s something else they’re telling you to avoid to “protect” your heart.
But According to the latest research, this “bad habit” can actually lower your risk of having a fatal heart attack or stroke.
And our European friends have known about it for centuries!
One of the best things you can do for your heart is something American doctors will tell you to avoid… spending time in a sauna.
For the recent study, researchers followed nearly 1,700 people between 53 and 74 for 15 years to see if there was a connection between sauna bathing and heart disease.
Compared to those who used the sauna the least, the people who used the sauna the most – 4 to 7 times a week – had a much lower risk of having a fatal cardiovascular event (like a heart attack or stroke).
In fact, they had a much lower risk of dying from ANY cause at all.
In addition, those who only used the sauna once a week had FOUR TIMES as many deaths as the group that used the sauna the most.
The study also showed that those who spent longer in the sauna per session – 45 minutes or longer vs. 15 minutes or less – also had a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
So saunas are not a problem… but getting access to one could be.
In Europe, saunas are practically a dime a dozen. Supposedly there are as many saunas as TVs! But in the U.S., you’ll typically only find a sauna in a gym.
If you’re on the fence about joining a gym this new year, maybe this will push you over the edge.
And when you get there, walk right past the weight lifting equipment…and straight to the sauna.
Your heart will thank you.
To a brighter day,
Dr. Richard Gerhauser, M.D.
