HIDDEN Countdown to Type 2 Diabetes [ACT FAST!]
Make no mistake: If you’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes, your health is not in the clear.
Not by a LONG shot.
Prediabetes is one short step away from type 2 diabetes and comes with many of the same health risks as the full-scale disease.
So if that’s you, listen up.
Because a recent study shows PRECISELY how quickly prediabetes can progress to full-blown type 2 diabetes. And I’ve got to warn you, it’s so fast it might make your head spin.
If you have prediabetes, the time to get your blood sugar under control is NOW.
A recent study showed that one in 20 adults over 65 will progress to type 2 diabetes in less than a year.
And 14.3 percent progress to type 2 diabetes in just over two years.
Certain factors made the progression to type 2 diabetes more likely: body mass index (BMI) and blood sugar levels (HbA1c).
And the higher these numbers, the faster the jump to diabetes.
High blood pressure and a family history of diabetes also increased the risk.
None of this is shocking. But what makes this study valuable is that it gives people a timetable.
Better yet… a countdown.
If you’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes and are in any of the high-risk categories I just mentioned, set your timer.
You have one year to get your blood sugar levels under control.
The good news is that prediabetes is completely reversible. Eating a better diet, moving more, and losing weight will get the job done.
It won’t be a quick fix, but it can be a lasting one.
P.S. If you don’t get routine blood work done, tracking your blood sugar to spot type 2 diabetes may not be an option. In that case, these five warning signs can help you spot the disease before it’s too late.
