Hit the “Off Switch” On Autoimmune Disease
Autoimmune disease is like having a sleeping enemy hiding inside your body.
Unfortunately, once it wakes up, there’s often no putting it back to sleep.
And make no mistake… we’re ALL at risk.
We can accidently wake this sleeping giant through our lifestyle choices.
Through epigenetics, lifestyle choices determine whether genes are turned on or off, including the ones that control autoimmune diseases.
Today, I want to share a powerful lifestyle hack that can help keep your autoimmune “switch” firmly in the OFF position.
Researchers recently studied a group of volunteers to see if various vitamins and antioxidants could impact the risk of autoimmune disease.
There was a clear winner:
Vitamin D.
The study showed that people who took 600 to 800 IU of vitamin D daily had a significantly lower risk of autoimmune disease.
However, too little—or too much—vitamin D increases risk.
This is why I recommend getting your vitamin D directly from the sun. Your body has built-in mechanisms that prevent it from “overdosing” on D.
However, vitamin D is just ONE factor that can impact your autoimmune risk.
Others include…
- toxin exposures,
- infections,
- diet, and
- stress.
That’s why boosting just one nutrient without altering your lifestyle will never give you the overall health benefits you’re hoping for.
But even one step in the right direction counts.
Maintaining adequate vitamin D levels could be the key to avoiding autoimmune disease and staying healthier from head to toe.
P.S. This powerful spice can (DELICIOUSLY) calm damaging inflammation.
