NEVER Trust a Mainstream Doctor! (Here’s Why)
If there’s one thing I can’t stomach as a physician, it’s watching fellow doctors take money from drug companies.
My priority is to my patients—not doing favors for Big Pharma.
That’s why I don’t take a dime from anyone.
But I’m not the norm.
And according to a new report, we’re ALL starting to pay the price for these unsavory bedfellows.
Back in 2010, the government passed a law called the Sunshine Act that is supposed to “shed light” on the financial relationship between doctors and teaching hospitals, and the manufacturers of drugs and medical devices.
Of course, it also highlights conflicts of interest.
This information is presented through the Open Payments Program, a database that anyone has access to.
But now that people have access to this shady side of medicine, something very predictable is happening…
Patients are losing trust in their doctors.
A report published in JAMA Open Network has highlighted this information…and is trying to make you feel bad for the doctors!
Well boo hoo. What did they think would happen?
Is it any wonder that patients are starting to question certain medical advice when that advice might be bought and paid for by Big Pharma?
The maddening part is that this mistrust of doctors seems to apply to ALL doctors, regardless of whether they’re in cahoots with the drug companies or not.
But at the end of the day, every doctor – including myself – needs to be open to scrutiny.
I welcome it because I have nothing to hide. And the more questions my patients ask, the better relationship we form.
And THAT is what is at the heart of good medicine—the relationship with the patient, not a pharmaceutical sales rep.
