Of all the lies the food industry tells us about the fake, processed junk they sell, there’s one that is particularly evil.

“A little won’t harm you.”

I mean, they engineer this stuff to be addictive… and then tell you just to consume it in moderation.

What a crock. And that’s especially true when it comes to the growing army of artificial sweeteners on the market.

We’ve always been told they were safe at small amounts.

Now, a new study out of Europe is exposing the truth about one of the most popular artificial sweeteners in America.

And you need to get it out of your diet right away.

There used to be an old urban legend that aspartame was first developed as ant poison.

That’s not true.

It’s always been people poison.

I mean, the science behind this sweetener is like a trail of misery.

It’s been shown to increase your risk of everything from diabetes to Alzheimer’s.

And 20 years ago, an animal study showed it caused cancer in multiple organs. And when researchers from Boston College took another look at those results in 2021, they confirmed the findings.

But don’t worry, we were told. Just consume aspartame at safe doses – don’t buy it by the barrel, and you’ll be fine.

Well, not so fast…

A new study out of Spain fed mice just one-sixth of the recommended maximum human daily intake of aspartame. It should have been harmless… except it wasn’t.

It strained their hearts, leading to a thickening of the heart muscle (known as cardiac hypertrophy). Aspartame also dulled their brains, leading to worse performance on cognitive tests.

The researchers concluded that aspartame “can have a detrimental impact on organ function even at low doses” and that consumption guidelines  “should be critically re-examined.”

Well, we don’t need to wait for any of that. I’ll give you a critical re-examination right now of how much aspartame it’s safe to consume.

None.

You should stay far, far away from this stuff. The bad news has been piling up for years, and I don’t expect it to stop… ever.

This is where you need to be a smart shopper. We know that aspartame is crammed into diet sodas and other low-calorie beverages.

But you’ll also find it in plenty of processed foods, especially if they’re bragging about being “low sugar.”

So read all of your labels carefully, and stay away from artificial sweeteners like aspartame.

It’s not worth the trouble… and never has been.
