ONE Change SLASHES Stomach Cancer Risk 70%
Cancer does discriminate—especially when it comes to stomach cancer.
In fact, black Americans have double the rate of stomach cancer as white Americans.
But don’t rest easy if you aren’t a person of color. We’re ALL at risk.
And if you happen to have a relative who has had stomach cancer, it can TRIPLE your risk of developing the disease.
The good news is that researchers identified a solution that could reduce the risk of stomach cancer up to 70 percent in high-risk individuals.
There’s no doubt that your diet impacts your cancer risk.
And a steady diet of ultra-processed foods can send your risk soaring. This is often a major problem for those who are lower income or on a fixed budget because processed junk food is simply less expensive.
With this in mind, researchers conducted a study that included over 80,000 low-income individuals, two-thirds of whom were black.
The goal was to see if taking a daily multivitamin could put a dent in the high stomach cancer rates among this population.
The volunteers who took a multivitamin had a 30 percent lower risk of stomach cancer than those who didn’t.
But, those with the WORST diets appeared to obtain the MOST benefits from the supplements.
Among those with the lowest Healthy Eating Index scores, taking a multivitamin SLASHED the risk of stomach cancer by 70 percent.
The study didn’t look into why supplements had this dramatic effect. But their ability to reduce inflammation no doubt has a lot to do with it.
You see, ultra-processed food FLOODS your body with inflammation, which is likely a reason it increases stomach cancer risk.
Multivitamins provide your body with nutrients that naturally fight inflammation while boosting the immune system and actively fighting cancer cell growth.
This isn’t the first study to find a link between supplement use and lower stomach cancer risk, either.
While a healthy diet is the BEST way to arm your body against cancer, taking a supplement like a daily multivitamin could be the next best thing.
P.S. SLASH your risk of developing deadly stomach cancer by up to 73% by eliminating THIS.
