Send IBS Into Remission NATURALLY
Doctors throw all sorts of drugs at irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)… from anti-diarrheals to antidepressants to anticholinergic meds.
But the BEST treatment for IBS might not be a drug at all.
Researchers say this all-natural approach not only reduces the severity of IBS symptoms but could even send the condition into remission.
For this 12-week study, children and adolescents with moderate to severe IBS were given a probiotic strain called B. longum 35624.
At the end of the study, a remarkable 96.6 percent of the participants had significant improvements in their symptom severity score.
They went from scores of moderate-to-severe IBS to scores indicating mild-to-remission.
In other words, some individuals became symptom-free after simply taking a probiotic.
Now, you’re probably wondering if, since a study shows that B. longum can be so effective for treating IBS symptoms in kids, if we can also assume it works for adults.
Fortunately, we don’t have to wonder.
Previous studies that were even more rigorous than this (meaning double-blind, placebo-controlled) concluded that B. longum can also reduce symptoms of IBS in adults.
The new study also revealed that this probiotic was effective even in those volunteers who were deficient in vitamin D. This is noteworthy because vitamin D deficiency is common in IBS patients.
In fact, if you want to add a cherry on top of the probiotic treatment, consider supplementing with vitamin D. Better yet expose your skin to UVB light from the sun to raise your levels.
Previous research revealed that supplementing with vitamin D can reduce disease IBS activity and improve quality of life in inflammatory bowel conditions.
