Slash Death from Dementia By 28%
Once you get to be my age, your risk of dementia doesn’t just increase. It skyrockets.
In fact, it DOUBLES about every five years.
But I don’t care what the statistics say… I don’t plan to fall victim to this devastating disease. And you shouldn’t either.
One of the ways I regularly fight back is by eating a golden elixir that slashes the risk of dying from dementia.
A spoonful of sugar might help the medicine go down.
But with a spoonful of olive oil, you might not need any medicine at all—especially when it comes to your brain health.
In a massive study that followed more than 92,000 volunteers for 28 years, researchers found that people who ate olive oil regularly had a lower risk of dying from dementia during the study (compared to those who rarely did).
You don’t need to guzzle the golden stuff, either.
The study found that around just seven grams of olive oil daily (about one tablespoon) was tied to an impressive 28 percent lower risk of suffering from a dementia-related death.
Interestingly, people with a specific gene that’s the strongest genetic risk factor for dementia (called APOE e4) were up to nine times more likely than those without this gene to die from dementia.
However, olive oil’s protective effect still held up even after factoring in this additional risk.
It’s not surprising that olive oil would have such a protective effect on the brain.
Previous research has already revealed that compounds in olive oil can cross the blood-brain barrier, where it…
- improves synaptic activity,
- boosts short-term plasticity,
- and reduces tau neuropathy.
All of this adds up to increased brain protection and reduced Alzheimer’s biomarkers.
Adding one tablespoon of olive oil to your daily routine couldn’t be easier.
You can use it as a salad dressing, a dip for bread (along with your favorite spices), or in a tasty dish like pesto.
P.S. Your daily dose of olive oil won’t just help you dodge death from dementia. Earlier research links this golden oil to a longer, healthier life across the board. CLICK HERE for the details on this age-defying feat.
