SLASH COVID-19 Risk with THIS Sleep Hormone?!
Vitamin D has gotten a lot of press when it comes to COVID-19—and for good reason.
A deficiency in vitamin D increases your risk of getting COVID-19—and of dying from it.
But there’s another nutrient that should be on everyone’s lips.
A recent study showed that taking this common, inexpensive supplement could lower the risk of contracting COVID-19… and that it could be especially protective for people with the highest risk of getting sick.
Developing a new drug is time-consuming and expensive, so researchers have been hard at work looking for effective treatments for COVID-19 that already exist.
Enter melatonin.
It’s more commonly known as the sleep hormone, since your body produces it while you’re sleeping, and supplementing with it can help combat sleep problems.
But studies also show that it can help strengthen your immune system and prevent it from overreacting. They’ve also suggested that it can help with respiratory viruses.
All of these actions make it a prime candidate for COVID-19.
Researchers from the Cleveland Clinic found that people taking small doses of melatonin were 28 percent less likely to contract COVID-19.
This is a remarkable finding, given that African Americans are three times as likely as white people to be diagnosed with COVID-19, and people with type 2 diabetes are 1.5 times as likely to die from COVID-19 than people without.
The study didn’t look into WHY melatonin was so beneficial, but at this point, does it matter?
Melatonin is beneficial, safe, and effective—and now, you can add potentially lifesaving—to the list.
This study did NOT find that melatonin helped reduce the severity of COVID-19… just that it reduced your risk of contracting it.
That means the time to take it is now… before you get sick—especially if you fall into a high-risk category.
You can find melatonin supplements at your local pharmacy.
