Eat right and exercise… AND take these pills.

That’s about all the advice you’ll get from your mainstream doc when it comes to improving your heart health.

I like to be a bit more exact with my patients (and try to avoid Big Pharma’s drugs at all costs).

That’s why I give SPECIFIC suggestions about SPECIFIC foods that reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke.

There’s one particular superfood that does exactly that.

But be careful… if you’re not eating just the right amount, you won’t see REAL results.

Have you ever had fresh, hand-picked blueberries? They’re sweet and juicy and bursting with flavor.

Blueberries are only in season a few months of the year, but of course you can get them in most grocery stores year-round.

But besides their delicious flavor, I love that blueberries are a sweet snack I can grab at any time of day that actually BENEFITS my health.

Studies show that eating blueberries regularly can reduce your risk of developing two of the biggest health problems of our modern society: heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

That’s because blueberries contain health-promoting flavonoids called anthocyanins that give them their deep blue-purple color.

But are the benefits strong enough to help people who are at high risk for developing these conditions?

To find out, researchers studied a group of people who already had metabolic syndrome – a group of conditions including excess belly fat, having abnormal lipids, and high blood sugar –  which puts you at risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

The group that consumed 1 cup of blueberries per day for six months experienced lasting improvements in heart function and arterial stiffness – two of the key drivers of heart disease.

In fact, they saw a 12-15 percent reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.

Unfortunately, eating just a ½ cup of blueberries did not bring about the same results—likely because this was a higher risk group with more damage done to their arteries.

But the bottom line here is that for those with—or without—metabolic syndrome, eating blueberries represents an easy, tasty way to boost your heart health.
