Superstar Vitamin SLASHES Respiratory Infection Risk by 42%?!
Dear Reader,
Respiratory infections can range from annoying and uncomfortable (nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing) to serious (bronchitis and pneumonia).
The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that’s sweeping the globe is an example of a family of viruses that cause respiratory illnesses.
And it’s a prime example of how respiratory infections can range from barely noticeable to deadly.
Now, respiratory infections are more likely to spread in cold weather when people are more likely to spend time indoors.
But even as we head into spring and summer, you’ll want to ramp up your body’s defenses against respiratory illnesses — especially since COVID-19 is still lingering.
And I’ve got the perfect way to do it…
The best protection against respiratory illness is the same no matter what time of year:
Load up on vitamin D.
This isn’t necessarily “new” news…
In fact, a study published a few years ago looked at data from 25 controlled trials of vitamin D supplementation and respiratory infections.
The results showed that supplementation with vitamin D helped protect against acute respiratory infections.
But it gets better…
More recently, the researchers updated their analysis with 18 additional studies that have been published since their original analysis.
The current meta-analysis published in The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology included 43 randomized, controlled clinical trials with nearly 49,000 people.
This study CONFIRMED that vitamin D is extremely effective at helping prevent respiratory infections!
People taking a daily dose of 400-1,000 IUs had a 42 percent lower risk of infection.
Interestingly, these doses were more effective than higher doses, which shows that when it comes to vitamin D, MORE is not necessarily BETTER.
Obtaining optimal levels for YOUR body is what’s best.
