Tackle Osteoarthritis Pain NATURALLY
To live with osteoarthritis means to live with pain.
When the protective cushion at the ends of your bones wears down, the bones begin to rub against each other.
What you FEEL is pain, stiffness, swelling, and loss of flexibility.
What’s happening on the inside is untamed inflammation that’s driving these degenerative processes.
One of the BEST ways to tame that inflammatory fire is with a remedy that’s thousands of years old.
Traditional medicine has capitalized on the benefits of turmeric for thousands of years.
Its active ingredient, curcumin, is a potent anti-inflammatory that’s especially beneficial for bone and joint health.
A recent review of studies found that curcumin is ESPECIALLY effective at combating the symptoms of osteoarthritis.
In fact, studies suggest that curcumin is AS effective as popular NSAIDs at easing osteoarthritis pain.
In one study, after taking either curcumin (500 mg, 3 times per day) or the NSAID diclofenac for one month, 94 percent of the curcumin group and 97 percent of the diclofenac group experienced a 50 improvement in pain.
Both were impressive results. But the main difference was in the side effects.
While 28 percent of the osteoarthritis patients taking diclofenac needed treatment for stomach trouble, NONE of those in the curcumin group required treatment.
That was just a short-term study, but long-term studies are just as encouraging.
One that involved 9 longer-term clinical trials determined that curcumin helped…
- reduce pain and stiffness,
- improve physical function,
- and decrease the use of painkillers (like NSAIDs).
To incorporate turmeric in your everyday life, you can use it in curries, soups, stews, or as “golden milk” (See my earlier report HERE for my simple recipe).
But you’ll likely need a higher dose if you’re trying to tackle tough osteoarthritis pain. In that case, opt for a turmeric or curcumin supplement.
The most commonly researched dosage is around 1,000–2,000 mg daily.
