There are plenty of healthy ways to improve the quality of your sleep.

Taking a melatonin supplement is NOT one of them.

Melatonin is a hormone, and loading your body with it on its own… in random amounts… is like playing with fire.

Instead, I recommend boosting your body’s own production of melatonin.

And this “tart elixir” is a simple way to accomplish just that.

I’ve written about the benefits of tart cherries in the past.

Their most well-known benefit is reducing the risk of gout attacks. They can also reduce other kinds of arthritis pain.

If you’ve taken tart cherry juice for either of these conditions, you may have noticed an unexpected side effect: better sleep!

It’s not all in your head.

You see, tart cherries are naturally high in tryptophan, an amino acid that your body converts into… (you guessed it…) melatonin.

Even better, tart cherries contain melatonin itself.

So it’s no wonder, then, that drinking tart cherry juice for just 2 weeks has been shown to significantly improve sleep efficiency, sleep time, and insomnia.

This tart elixir contains everything you need to promote better sleep… with none of the risks of sleeping pills (or supplemental melatonin, for that matter).

There’s just one problem with tart cherry juice: It’s loaded with sugar in order to make the sour berries palatable.

But you don’t have to drink the juice – or suck down the heaps of sugar – to get its benefits.

Tart cherry extract supplements give you all of the health benefits… with none of the sugar.

They’re widely available through health food stores and on Amazon.com.
