The 5-Minute Depression Fix? (Slashes Symptoms in HALF)
When you’re feeling down in the dumps, it feels like no one has any good answers for you.
Maybe some doc will stick you on an antidepressant that takes weeks to work… if it ever works at all.
And many folks end up suffering through side effects that actually make them feel worse.
Well, how would you like to cut your depression symptoms in half… in as little as five minutes?
A new study out of England shows it’s possible.
And all you have to do is something I’ve been telling you about for years.
You know by now that I’m a big fan of cold exposure. I regularly take dips in the natural cold spring pools near my home in Arizona.
This cold exposure – or cold hydrotherapy, as it’s known – helps burn fat, relieve pain, and lower cortisol levels that rise with stress.
Now, we know it can help relieve depression symptoms fast, too.
In a study out of England, a group of young adults was asked to immerse themselves in cold water in sessions that lasted just five minutes.
The results were incredible…
Their depression scores were cut in half… and so were their scores for other symptoms researchers measured, like tension and fatigue.
I’m not surprised. I always get a mood boost and feel more alert after cold exposure.
And here’s the really good news…
You certainly can take a dip in a chilly lake or spring like I do. But if you don’t have one nearby, that’s fine.
Researchers tested results in both a natural setting and a lab immersion tank, and both delivered.
So having an ice tub at home or just taking a cold shower are easy ways to get started.
Just be careful.
Cold water can be risky if you have heart disease or existing high blood pressure. Before taking the plunge, check with your doctor if you’re already at risk.
