This Breakthrough Fights Cancer and Depression
Anytime Big Pharma tries to temp you with their next “polypill,” just say “no thank you” and move on.
A polypill is one pill that contains multiple pharmaceutical drugs. And from what I’ve seen so far, MORE is definitely NOT BETTER.
In fact, the side effects associated with these things are downright dangerous
A BETTER solution is to find ONE pill that has MULIPLE benefits.
And it there’s one particular supplement that can help with everything from depression to cancer.
Not too long ago, I told you about an important study showing that people with extremely low levels of vitamin D have an increased risk of mortality.
I hope that was enough to get you on the vitamin D bandwagon—taking active steps to 1). Know your levels, and 2). Increase them if necessary.
If not, there are two more recent studies I want to tell you about that (once again) highlight the importance of getting enough D.
The first study connected a vitamin D deficiency to depression.
Using data from the Military Health System Data Repository, researchers found that military service members who were stationed in the northern latitudes were more likely to be deficient in vitamin D. (That’s because they don’t get as much direct sunlight that far north.)
The also found that 20% of the people who were deficient in vitamin D also suffered from depression (compared to just 4% in those who had adequate levels).
The second study involved over 25,000 people who were part of the Vitamin D and Omega 3 Trial for five years.
This study showed that people who supplemented with vitamin D had a lower risk of cancer.
(Those who supplemented with omega-3s had a lower risk of heart attacks.)
The connection between vitamin D and a lower cancer risk is in line with other studies showing that cancer patients with higher levels of the vitamin experience improved survival times.
As I always say, the best way to get your daily dose of D is to get more safe sun exposure.
