The higher the dosage, the greater the protection.

For example, adding an extra 1,000mg per day decreased the risk of a cardiovascular disease event by an additional 5.8 percent, and the risk of heart attack by 9 percent.

This study confirmed the results of a meta-analysis last year that evaluated 13 studies.
