Do THIS three times per week

You don’t have to be on the brink of Alzheimer’s or dementia to experience dips in your memory as you get older.

But “common” memory problems can still impact your quality of life—not to mention, boost your stress levels.

There are plenty of lifestyle factors that can help you safeguard your memories.

One big factor is sleep.

Like I mentioned yesterday, deep sleep is when your experiences are translated into memories.

But today, I want to focus on another key way to protect your memory.

Exercise has already been shown to enhance cognitive function in general, but researchers wanted to investigate its impact on episodic memory, specifically.

This type of memory involves events that happened to you in the past. It also happens to be one of the first areas of brain health to decline as you get older.

For this study, researchers evaluated the results of 36 separate studies including nearly 3,000 older adults.

Researchers found that exercise did indeed improve episodic memory.

The strongest benefits were seen in people from 55-68 years old (compared to older individuals) who had not yet experienced cognitive decline.

The point being… the EARLIER you start exercising on a regular basis, the better.

What’s the magic amount of exercise for better memory?

According to this study, it’s three times per week for at least four months.

Time to get moving!
