Have you ever noticed that as you get older, you don’t quite “bounce back” from things the way you used to?

The common cold might last longer… or might take you a little longer to recover from exercise.

But if you’ve suffered from heart issues, it can be much more serious. Because the older you are, the higher your risk of complications.

And that means you run the risk of NEVER bouncing back.

Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Researchers have identified a way for older people to more quickly—and more fully—recover.

Having heart disease—or a heart attack—isn’t good no matter how old you are.

But it’s worse when you’re older.

The catch 22 is that the older you are, the more likely you are to develop heart disease… and the harder it is to bounce back if you end up having a heart attack.

There’s just one problem… the older you are; the less likely health care providers are to refer you to a rehab program.

Do they think you’re beyond hope? Ridiculous!

According to a study published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, seniors can benefit the MOST from rehabilitation programs.

Researchers examined 733 people who went to cardiac rehab for 25 sessions.

And they found that the older you are, the MORE benefit you gain from these kinds of rehab programs, both in terms of physical and mental health.

This makes sense because exercise can slow your heart rate, lower your blood pressure, ease stress, improve how your body utilizes oxygen, and help you lose weight.

All of these things are great for your heart and can help you heal faster while reducing your need for medicine.

And THAT, folks, is what real medicine is all about—helping your body to truly heal, as opposed to simply loading you full of pharmaceutical drugs.

Hopefully, a study like this one will encourage people to see the benefits of rehab programs—especially for older individuals.
