[Urgent Warning] Popular Drug Causes Cancer?!
When it comes to mainstream medicine, you typically have two options:
Bad and worse.
Like when they put you on a medication that alleviates the symptoms of problem #1, but that gives you side effects that lead to problems #2, 3, and 4.
These aren’t always minor side effects, either.
In fact, one of the most popular drugs in the US was recently recalled for causing cancer.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Nearly 50 percent of adults in the US have high blood pressure (hypertension), putting them at an increased risk of the leading causes of death: heart disease and stroke.
Doctors dutifully dole out blood pressure drugs to help people get their numbers under control.
Not me.
High blood pressure can be easily solved by making a few simple lifestyle changes, and with the aid of a few key supplements.
But now I have another reason NOT to prescribe pills for hypertension:
They could be giving you cancer.
Pfizer just issued a recall of its hypertension drug Accupril because of an increased cancer risk.
The 10-, 20-, and 40-mg tablets distributed from December 2019-April 2022 were found to contain an impurity associated with an increased risk of cancer.
Don’t worry, Pfizer says, you’re not at “immediate risk” because only long-term ingestion presents a problem.
… Do you know anyone who takes blood pressure drugs for the short-term?
Of course not!
Once you go on these drugs, you’re typically on them for life.
If you’re taking BP medication, make sure it’s not one of the drugs listed on the recall. Here are the lot numbers that were recalled:
- DR9639
- DX8682
- DG1188
- DX6031
- CK6260
If you are on one of these drugs, talk to your doctor about a different option.
Better yet, talk to him about steps you can take to stop taking medication altogether.
P.S. I recently wrote about another popular drug that’s been shown to increase your risk of heart failure. Click here to read about it.
