Vitamin Secret Delivers Pain-Free Joints?
Let’s face it, managing osteoarthritis pain is challenging. It’s a constant (unwelcome) companion.
And taking MORE pain pills isn’t a good option. They come with FAR too many risks.
Creams, patches, and gels can sometimes ease the ache a bit. But the relief is usually mild and doesn’t last long.
However, scientists say there IS another option.
The INTENSITY of your joint pain may not be entirely caused by how severe your arthritis is after all…
In fact, a hidden trigger could be ratcheting up your agony. It’s all linked to a COMMON vitamin deficiency could be to blame for your acute pain.
And bumping up its levels could dial down the ache and help restore your independence.
I could write an entire book on the benefits of vitamin D. (In fact, many folks HAVE done just that.)
And D deficiency is associated with a higher risk of a long list of illnesses, including diabetes, heart disease, depression, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and osteoporosis, to name a few.
But as strange as it sounds, scientists say new research points to those same low levels as the potential culprit behind the intensity of your osteoarthritis (OA) pain.
Researchers selected 48 folks battling knee osteoarthritis and 48 arthritis-free control subjects for the study.
After carefully combing through the medical data on the participants, they found the folks with OA…
- had significantly lower vitamin D levels
- were far more likely to be outright deficient in D than those without OA
But that’s not all. It gets even MORE surprising.
The folks with lower D levels ALSO had higher levels of…
- pain intensity,
- disability,
- and
Plus, they performed WORSE on walking speed, sit-to-stand, and social participation tests.
In other words, there was a clear link between vitamin D land osteoarthritis pain intensity.
Have your levels tested to find out if low vitamin D could be intensifying your OWN pain. If they’re below optimal levels, you may be able to dial DOWN the agony by bringing UP your D levels
Try spending time out in the sun daily. I suggest downloading the D-Minder app for your smartphone. It will pinpoint the right time of day and how long you should spend outside to produce enough vitamin D.
If your levels are still running low, consider adding a D supplement to your regular routine.
