WARNING! Popular Food Causes Colon Cancer
Many types of cancer are on the decline.
Colon cancer isn’t one of them.
Colorectal cancer has seen an alarming increase—particularly in people under 50.
In fact, it has become a leading cause of death in this age group.
Now, research has uncovered a culprit that increases your risk of colon cancer by nearly 30 percent. It’s something you’ll want to avoid, no matter your age.
A few “C” words come to mind when I think of processed foods: cheap, convenient, and cancer.
Most people like them because of the first two C’s while being completely clueless about the role they play in cancer.
But make no mistake, ultra-processed foods will kill you one way or another. If it’s not from heart disease, obesity, or type 2 diabetes, it’s because of their direct role in causing cancer.
It isn’t just the lack of vital nutrients in these foods that’s an issue. It’s what’s added to them that’s the REAL problem.
Ultra-processed foods are SO full of chemicals, preservatives, and sodium to extend their shelf life and make them palatable that there’s hardly any actual FOOD left in them.
This junk destroys your gut health, promotes inflammation, and exposes you to direct cancer-causing contaminants.
So it’s no wonder two recent studies published in the BMJ showed that people who eat the most processed foods have a higher risk of colon cancer, cardiovascular disease, and death.
In the first study, researchers used data on more than 200,000 men and women who were followed for 24 to 28 years in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, the Nurses’ Health Study, and the Nurses’ Health Study II.
They found that men who ate the most ultra-processed food had a 29 percent higher risk of colorectal cancer—especially in the distal colon—than those who ate the least.
Ready-to-eat meals, in particular, were linked to a higher risk of colorectal cancer in both men and women.
The second study looked at the connection between nutritional scores and mortality using two popular food measures: The Food Standards Agency Nutrient Profiling System (which calculates a nutrition score or Nutri-Score) and the NOVA classification (which indicates the amount of food processing).
The research included over 250,000 men and women with an average age of 55. It showed that those with the least healthy diet (based on the Nutri-Score) had a 32 percent higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 19 percent higher risk of dying from ANY cause (compared to those who ate healthier diets).
And study participants who ate the MOST ultra-processed food (based on the NOVA score) had a 27 percent higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 19 percent higher risk of dying from ANY cause.
The message here is clear: for a longer, healthier life, skip the processed junk and eat REAL food instead. It tastes better and is better for you.
P.S. Before processed food sends you to an early grave, it could rob you of your memory and ability to focus. I have all the disturbing details here in my earlier report.
