Deficiencies tied to overactive bladder, urinary incontinence and more

If you’re up all hours of the night going to the bathroom

If you occasionally leak urine because of the sudden, uncontrollable urge to go…

If you know locations of the restrooms in every store you frequent…

…then you’re likely dealing with an overactive bladder or urinary incontinence

And while it’s often associated with women (especially those who have had kids), nearly as many men are affected as women.

It’s NOT a normal part of getting older, but it IS treatable.

But before you take one of Big Pharma’s many drugs for the condition, consider taking a simple wonder vitamin that could make all the difference.

You’re familiar with vitamin D for bone health, strengthening your immune system, and even boosting your mood.

But vitamin D can help strengthen your muscles, too — and that includes your bladder muscles!

Researchers conducted a meta-analysis of studies that looked at research related to overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorder, and lower urinary tract symptoms.

Six of the seven studies they reviewed found that the onset and severity of urinary incontinence was associated with a deficiency in vitamin D.

And two additional studies showed that vitamin D could help treat urinary incontinence.

Ultimately, two-thirds of the studies showed a strong connection between vitamin D and bladder health.

This makes sense, since the bladder muscle that contracts to allow urine out of your bladder has receptors for vitamin D.

Vitamin D helps strengthen the muscles of your bladder — and of those in and around your pelvic floor.

One study also showed a connection between vitamin D deficiency and an increased risk of bladder cancer.

Interestingly, about the same percentage of adults suffering from bladder problems like overactive bladder and incontinence is about the same percentage of adults who are deficient in vitamin D.

There are more than enough reasons to make sure you’re getting all the vitamin D you need.

This latest study adds another big one to the list.
