The 12-Week Blood Sugar FIX
I remember it like it was yesterday.
My youngest son absolutely REFUSED to eat his broccoli when he was little. He tried every trick in the book… hiding it in his napkin, feeding it to our dog—you know the drill.
But my wife and I always made sure we won that battle, and I’m glad we did… because more and more research has proven that eating this little green veggie is one of the BEST things you can do for your health.
And now, we have another benefit to add to broccoli’s resume: It helps fight type 2 diabetes.
In fact, a powerful component of broccoli could dramatically improve your blood sugar numbers in just 12 weeks.
One particular compound found in broccoli, called sulforaphane, could be especially potent in the fight against diabetes.
That’s because of how it impacts your liver’s production of glucose.
Most people think of the pancreas when it comes to sugar regulation, but the liver plays a role, too.
Because diabetics suffer from insulin resistance, the liver mistakenly thinks it needs to produce more sugar than is really necessary, contributing to the process that leads to dangerously high blood sugar.
There are many genes involved in the liver’s overproduction of glucose, and one group of researchers set out to find a compound that could hit the “off switch” on those genes.
After combing through nearly 4,000 compounds, sulforaphane emerged as the clear winner.
The next step was to test this compound in cell lines, animals, and ultimately, in people. At all of those stages, sulforaphane performed like a champ.
First, sulforaphane was shown to decrease the production of glucose in the liver cells of mice. Then, researchers found that it prevented glucose intolerance in mice, and improved it in mice who were already glucose intolerant.
But the real story here is its dramatic impact on diabetics.
When researchers gave type 2 diabetics this powerful broccoli extract, there were significant decreases in HbA1c after just 12 weeks.
And in those whose diabetes was not well managed, the broccoli extract significantly reduced fasting blood glucose.
What could those kinds of improvements mean for you and your quality of life?
If you’re having trouble regulating your blood sugar, this could be just the answer you’ve been looking for.
This broccoli compound, called sulforaphane, is available at just about any online or retail vitamin shop. You can get it for pennies a day.
I don’t think the broccoli battle will ever end with kids (or grandkids), but this latest study gives us one more reason to stay the course.

When it comes to health and medicine, we have it very backward here in America. Health organizations promote things like diet soda while demonizing meat and eggs. It’s like we’re living in a world of opposites. Case in point: Scientists have identified a summer weed that’s jam-packed with vital nutrients and can lower your blood...
There are all kinds of body parts that start shrinking with age—and unless you’re talking about your waistline, none of them are good. But the worst of all has to be your brain. You can’t see it happening (like you can with, say, your muscles), but you can’t miss the effects. It can start as...
Going to the doctors these days is so predictable. You walk in thinking you feel fine, and walk out with a long list of prescriptions you’re supposed to take for the rest of your life. That’s not medicine. That’s drug pedaling. My goal as a doctor is to keep you OFF of prescription drugs, and...
Cancer. That six-letter word is a life-changer for anyone who hears it. Cancer therapies have come a long way, but they still leave a lot to be desired… as evidenced by the fact that cancer remains the nation’s number two killer. That’s why I’m always encouraging you to take proactive steps to make sure you...
I don’t know why modern medicine is always trying to reinvent the wheel. Grandmothers and medicine men have been treating, preventing, and curing common ailments with nature’s medicines for as long as time. Most of the drugs Big Pharma cooks up in their labs don’t come anywhere close to what nature provides in your back...
If you’re diabetic or pre-diabetic, you know there are certain foods you CAN’T have. We typically talk about the cakes and pastries, but most doctors will also have you swearing off healthier foods like fruit because of their sugar content. But as usual, that advice is short-sited. Because it fails to account for the protective...
How long has it been since you’ve indulged in cheese pizza, fried chicken, or even a glass of fresh-squeezed OJ without paying the price? You’ve heard the saying, “Have your cake and eat it, too.” If you’re diabetic or prediabetic, that’s all that is… a saying. Because eating cake, pizza, and cookies, and everything else that makes you happy – is a big no-no. Well if you’re trying to stave off diabetes, I’ve got great news for you today. ...
Until we find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, I’ll be searching for ways to prevent it. And from what I’ve seen, one of the best ways to do that is to focus on foods and nutrients that can boost your memory and cognitive function. There’s one herb that’s especially beneficial for its brain-protective effects. It’s...
Colon cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death among men and women. But it doesn’t have to be. If you get a routine colon cancer screening, you can catch polyps and have them removed before they have a chance to become cancerous. And for the estimated 100,000 cases of colorectal cancer that will...
