[Alert] Asthma Treatment’s HORRIFYING Secret
Dear Reader,
I’ve been dealing with these Big Pharma types (usually chucking them from my office) for more than 30 years… and I’ve seen this swindle a thousand times.
The minute they have a drug on the market, they start looking to pad sales by finding new diseases it can treat.
And they usually end up finding new ways to wreck your life, too.
But now they’ve really gone too far. Because there’s a push to experiment with a new drug on millions of folks with asthma.
And this medication comes with a terrible secret the drug companies don’t want you to know about.
I nearly spit out my coffee when I read that researchers want doctors to start prescribing Gleevec (imatinib) for asthma.
Yeah, not with my patients. Over my dead body.
Gleevec isn’t some fancy new inhaler — it’s a powerful CANCER DRUG!
A small clinical trial found that Gleevec, used for treating leukemia, may make airways less likely to constrict when triggered by an allergen.
The way this drug works in leukemia patients is by blocking a receptor on cancerous white blood cells, which prevents them from multiplying.
Apparently, the drug also has this effect on mast cells, which are a type of white blood cell that promotes inflammation and causes some of the symptoms of asthma.
Well, whoopty doo.
Sure, you can take a cancer drug for asthma. You can also burn down your house to get rid of termites — but I wouldn’t recommend it.
The fact is, more than 30 percent of patients taking Gleevec suffer from serious side effects like nausea and vomiting, swelling, bone pain, diarrhea, hemorrhage, skin rash… I could go on.
To truly fix any problem, you have to dig down to the root cause. For asthma, the root cause is immune system dysfunction.
One of the best ways to give your immune system a boost is exposure to the environment – especially natural sunlight. Sunlight is hands down the best source of vitamin D, and vitamin D is essential for a healthy immune system.
Numerous studies have shown the connection between vitamin D and asthma.
One recent study showed that people who don’t get enough vitamin D are more likely to have asthma. Another showed that kids with asthma who have low vitamin D levels are more likely to have more severe symptoms.
It’s hardly surprising, then, that yet another study showed that supplementing with vitamin D lowered the risk of asthma attacks in children and adults.
The best, most natural way to fill your vitamin D tank is to get the sun directly on your skin during the middle of the day.
I recommend downloading a cell phone app, like D Minder, which will tell you exactly how much vitamin D you’re generating during each hour of the day.
To a brighter day,
