KILLER Calcium Mistake You DON’T Want to Make
Your body needs calcium.
It’s NECESSARY for your heart, muscles, and nerves to function correctly.
It’s also essential for building and maintaining strong bones.
But when calcium ends up where it doesn’t belong, it can literally kill you.
Coronary artery calcification (CAC) occurs when calcium builds up in your arteries. This contributes to impaired blood flow to your heart, which can ultimately lead to heart disease and a heart attack.
Fortunately, researchers have uncovered a way to put a STOP to the progression of this condition for folks who already have it.
For the Aortic Valve Decalcification Trial, scientists studied the impact of vitamins K2 and D on the progression of coronary artery calcification.
After two years, in those who were at a high risk of CAC but who didn’t have prior ischemic heart disease, the combination of K2 and D significantly slowed the progression of the CAC score.
Those taking K2 and D also had a lower number of adverse events like heart attack, coronary revascularization, or death during the study.
The specific form of vitamin K2 used in the study was MK-7.
Research shows that vitamin K2 helps bind calcium to your bones—which not only increases bone mineral density and bone strength—but also helps keep the calcium out of your arteries.
Vitamin D, on the other hand, is associated with lower levels of vascular calcification because it inhibits the inflammation that drives the calcification.
This is a classic example of how nutrients work in synergy to accomplish a task. If you’re taking calcium to boost bone health—without adequate vitamin K2 or vitamin D—it could end up in the wrong place.
To support your heart and bone health, consider taking all three together. You can even find combo supplements that include all three.
And, as always, be sure to check in with your doc before starting on any new supplements.
P.S. Maintaining strong bones is CRITICAL as you age. This 4-nutrient secret to STRONGER bones makes it simple.
