[Warning] This Food Additive May Be Killing You
Dear Reader,
Back when artificial sweeteners were introduced in the 1980s, the promise of a zero-calorie sweetener seemed too good to be true.
And let me tell you: It was.
It took a few decades for science to figure that out, but the results are in, and they’re not pretty.
Sugar substitutes like Equal and NutraSweet have been linked to everything from headaches to mood swings to vision problems.
And the most ironic part? They’ve been found to cause the very thing people who use them are trying to avoid: weight gain.
And now, the latest study shows that these sweeteners far more dangerous than we ever thought—and they could be ruining your health.
According to a recent study presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, artificial sweeteners could increase your risk of type 2 diabetes.
This study revealed that these chemical concoctions change the way the body responds to glucose, and ultimately, they reduce the body’s ability to keep blood sugar levels under control.
This could lead to spikes in after-meal blood glucose levels, a dangerous (and typically overlooked) threat that can increase your risk of strokes, dementia, heart attacks, and more.
And that “more” includes increasing your risk of type 2 diabetes.
It’s no surprise that these fake sugars wreak havoc on your body. Artificial sweeteners aren’t food. They aren’t even found in nature. They’re chemicals created in a lab. And that means your body doesn’t recognize it, which sets you up for untold health problems.
Would you drink Draino or bleach if they happened to be sweet? Of course not! They are chemicals that aren’t intended for human consumption, and things like aspartame is no different.
I won’t go into the details of how this not-so-sweetener made it to the market, but it involved plenty of bribes and political ties. And for those same reasons, don’t expect it to be banned anytime soon.
But you can enforce your own personal ban. And if you care about your health, that’s exactly what you should do.
Don’t reach for any sugar packet that isn’t white (and avoid that one too, if you can), and don’t buy anything that says “sugar free.” That’s a dead giveaway that the product is loaded with the stuff.
Remember, zero calorie does not mean zero harm. And the hope of losing weight isn’t worth losing your health.
To a brighter day,
