The key to avoiding this fast-growing cancer

The death rate from colon cancer has declined in recent years thanks to routine colon cancer screenings.

Despite this overall decline, there has been an alarming RISE in colon cancer cases in younger adults.

I want to help make sure you never face a colon cancer diagnosis, no matter how old you are.

Of course, the first step is to make sure you’re getting routine colon cancer screenings.

In addition, there’s another critical step you can take that’s been shown to reduce your risk of this deadly cancer by up to 60 percent.

More than a dozen types of cancer are directly tied to obesity — and colon cancer is right up there at the top of the list.

In fact, a recent study found that gaining at least six pounds every five years was associated with a 30 percent increased risk of developing colorectal adenomas (precancerous polyps).

That’s scary news for the 73 percent of US adults who fall into the overweight or obese category.

But this study found encouraging news as well:

Losing weight can SLASH your risk of colon cancer.

Adults who lost weight over the years—at least two pounds per decade—reduced their risk of polyps by 46 percent.

But adults who were overweight or obese at age 20 and THEN lost weight over the years saw the biggest benefit.

These individuals reduced their risk by more than 60 percent.

The bottom line?

To drastically reduce your risk of the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S…

1). Get regular colon cancer screenings.

2). Lose the weight.

And as I recently shared with you, one of the best ways to promote weight loss is by eating avocados.

A recent study showed that women who ate an avocado a day were able to reduce their visceral fat and improve the ratio between visceral and subcutaneous belly fat.
