DRINK Your Way to a Longer Life?
You don’t need to wait until the New Year to turn over a new leaf.
You can start taking a more active approach to living a longer, healthier life TODAY.
In fact, there’s no better time than NOW to start improving your health.
And fortunately, sometimes, the smallest steps can make the biggest impact.
That’s why, today, I’m going to share a VERY simple way to boost your health AND longevity as we enter this new year.
The best part?
It’s not something you need to give up, cut out, or sacrifice (and you don’t even have to set foot in a gym).
It’s something you can drink.
Most people I know either drink coffee OR tea. But a recent study highlighted the benefits of consuming BOTH.
Researchers looked at medical records and questionnaires to determine the impact of these two drinks on mortality.
They found that people who drank 2 to 4 cups of tea AND 1 to 2 cups of coffee daily had a 22 percent reduced risk of dying during the follow-up, compared to folks who didn’t drink either.
The risk of dying from cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive diseases decreased as participants drank MORE coffee and tea.
Clearly, drinking both beverages together has benefits. But if you prefer one over the other, don’t worry. There are plenty of studies that show the advantages of drinking either one OR the other.
Whichever option you choose, just make sure you’re not canceling out the benefits by dumping spoonsful of sugar into it.
It might help the medicine go down, but it will NOT contribute to a longer, healthier life.
Eating too much sugar won’t just send your risk for diabetes and obesity rising. It will also trigger your body to release too much insulin leading to damaging, disease-linked inflammation.
Plus, sugar fuels inflammation by increasing levels of proinflammatory messengers called cytokines which drive up your risk for autoimmune diseases and cancer.
P.S. Prefer your tea or coffee sweet? Don’t make the mistake of switching to “zero-calorie” or “sugar-free” options. Click here to find out the dangers you face when you do.
