Bad Habit Sends Cancer Risk SOARING! (Scary)
We know that certain things can cause cancer—like smoking, pollution, and obesity.
But other factors are just as dangerous.
In fact, researchers have just discovered that one can increase your risk of certain cancers by up to 59 percent.
Even worse? It happens to affect nearly 50 percent of adults.
Find out if you’re one of them—and the simple step you can take to beat the odds.
No one likes to think about the tiny bacteria invading their mouths and wreaking havoc on their body.
But it’s a reality for nearly half of all adults over age 30.
And in addition to causing obvious issues like bad breath, receding gums, and tooth loss, in recent years studies have connected gum disease to major conditions like dementia.
Now, a study has shown that people with gum disease are much more likely to develop certain types of cancer.
Using data collected from the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study—which included nearly 150,00 people—researchers looked at the connection between gum disease and specific types of cancer.
They found that a history of gum disease…
- Increases the risk of throat cancer by 43 percent
- Increases the risk of stomach cancer by 52 percent
In addition, people who had lost two or more teeth as a result of gum disease experienced a 33 percent increased risk of stomach cancer, and a 42 percent increased risk of throat cancer.
The ties between these cancers and gum disease remained even after factoring in other risk factors.
The connection makes perfect sense, since the mouth, throat, and stomach are all directly connected.
The bad bacteria that live in the mouth can easily travel down the intestinal tract to your throat and stomach. And these bad bacteria contribute to chronic, systemic inflammation, which is a key contributor to all kinds of cancer.
You can get rid of the bacteria overtaking your mouth by practicing better oral hygiene, cutting out sugar (it feeds bacteria), avoiding processed foods (they promote the growth of bacteria), and avoiding hydrogenated oils (they’re highly inflammatory).

COVID-19 is on everyone’s mind these days. But let’s not forget that it’s flu season, too. Seasonal flu can be especially dangerous for older people. Eight-five percent of flu-related deaths and 70 percent of flu-related hospitalizations occur in people who are over 65. I’m not a fan of the flu vaccine because it simply doesn’t...
You can eat your way to a heart attack… But you can also eat your way to heart health, too. Fish like salmon, sardines, and cod are loaded with omega-3s, which drastically reduce your risk of dying from coronary heart disease or from a heart attack. But how do omega-3s work their magic? A recent...
