The Cancer Trigger Hiding in Your Mouth?!
If you’ve been told you have gum disease, you have more than a cosmetic problem on your hands.
Gum disease can cause irreversible damage to your bones and tissue… and it can also send your cancer risk through the roof.
Two recent studies have just linked gum disease to some of the worst cancers around.
But I’m going to show you how to reverse your gum disease – and lower your cancer risk in the bargain.
In the first study, scientists discovered that higher levels of Tannerella forsythia and Porphyromonas gingivalis (two bacteria associated with gum disease) were linked with esophageal cancer.
Esophageal cancer is extremely deadly, so the more we can learn about how to prevent it—or detect it early—the better.
The second study found that increases in gum bacteria (specifically T. denticola, T. denticola, and A. actinomycetemcomitans) were associated with gastric cancer.
So why is this happening?
Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque, which is teeming with millions of bacteria. The bacteria cause inflammation, which destroys the gums and tissues around it.
Scientists believe that bacteria from the diseased gums then get into the bloodstream, which carries it to other parts of the body where it contributes to cancer formation.
Addressing the bacteria in your mouth is not just the best thing you can do for your gums—it’s a powerful way to help protect against numerous types of cancer.
Fortunately, the best way to do that is by making a few simple changes to your diet:
- Cut out sugar because it feeds bacteria.
- Avoid processed foods, which promote the growth of bacteria, and hydrogenated oils, which are highly inflammatory.
- Eat whole, organic food.
- For additional protection, try xylitol chewing gum, which prevents bacteria from building up.
