Daily Habit “Melts Away” Dementia Linked Plaques
Want to slash your Alzheimer’s risk?
One of the best ways to support your brain health is to put down your phone, get up out of your chair, and GET MOVING.
Studies confirm exercise really IS a “magic bullet” against dementia.
It improves brain function, delays dementia onset, and, in some cases, prevents it altogether.
Why is regular exercise so great for brain health?
It combats two key enemies of a healthy brain.
It’s well known that exercise boosts blood flow to the brain, helps grow new brain cells, reduces neuroinflammation, and increases neuroplasticity.
However, recent research identified two MORE ways exercise protects brain health and slashes dementia risk.
For this study, researchers evaluated physical activity levels, cognition, and plasma biomarkers of over 1,000 people with and without mild cognitive impairment.
Those who exercised the most had significantly lower levels of ptau217 and NfL than those who exercised the least.
Ptau217 is an Alzheimer’s biomarker that includes amyloid and tau accumulation (Alzheimer’s-linked proteins that build up in the brain) and brain atrophy.
And NfL is a measure of general neurodegeneration.
In addition, those who exercised the most had better cognitive scores.
Interestingly, the connection between physical activity and better brain biomarkers was greater in people over 65.
That’s right… the older you are, the bigger the brain benefits of exercise and the more your dementia risk drops.
Time to get moving.
P.S. This “31% Solution” adds YEARS to your life!
