DEFEAT Diabetes with THESE Weird Peas! (Amazing)
Did you know that peas could be the perfect food for controlling your blood sugar?
I’m not talking about the regular peas that are probably in your freezer or pantry right now.
Scientists have just discovered a weird-looking pea that can help stave off diabetes by helping to manage your blood sugar.
It’s perfect for type 2 diabetics—or those trying to avoid becoming one.
Most people try to avoid wrinkles.
But wrinkly peas?
Yes please!
A unique variety of peas makes them appear more shriveled and wrinkled than their smooth-skinned cousins.
You might be tempted to turn your nose up at them, but these naturally wrinkly peas are great for blood sugar control.
Researchers have recently found that wrinkly peas have a lower carbohydrate content and higher amounts of resistant starch.
This is good news for anybody—but it’s especially great news for diabetics and pre-diabetics.
You see, because your body takes longer to break down resistant starches, it helps prevent the blood sugar spikes that contribute to the risk of type 2 diabetes.
The researchers also found that flour made from wrinkly peas had the same effect.
In four different trials, researchers gave volunteers either wrinkled peas/flour, or regular peas/flour, and measured parameters such as how quickly the stomach emptied, as well as conducting blood, urine, and stool tests.
Ultimately, the researchers found that compared to regular peas, the wrinkled peas led to…
- Less glucose available in the small intestine
- More stable blood sugar
- Healthy changes in gut bacteria
And the pea flour was just as effective at preventing dangerous spikes in blood sugar.
Unfortunately, wrinkled peas haven’t made their way to local grocery stores just yet—but you can buy seeds and plant them in your own garden.
In the meantime, be sure to eat plenty of regular, smooth peas. They’re loaded with nutrients like vitamins A, B, C, and K, plus fiber and protein.
And if you happen to see those wrinkled peas or pea flour in your grocery store, start adding them in to your diet as an all-natural way to help balance your blood sugar.
That’s something that’s important for everyone—whether you’re diabetic or not.
