Doc Says Knee Replacement? Read THIS First
I know a thing or two about pain.
I’ve been lucky enough to climb some of the tallest peaks in the world—including in Alaska and the Himalayas—and you can’t make it to the top without pushing through the pain.
But that kind of pain is temporary. I know that there are millions of Americans walking around with the kind of chronic pain that can wreck your quality of life.
And for those with chronic knee pain, climbing the stairs to the bedroom can seem as daunting as climbing the Himalayas.
So when doctors dangle the idea of knee replacement surgery, I can hardly blame someone for getting in line.
There’s just one problem: It doesn’t work.
And you could be headed for a major disappointment.
In a study published in BMJ, researchers studied approximately 4,500 patients between 45 and 79 who had knee replacements due to arthritis. The overall consensus was that the surgery had only minimal effects on quality of life—especially for those with less severe pain and loss of function.
That’s a lot of pain… and a whole lot of dollars spent… for only “minimal effects.”
This discovery has left some people in the medical community wondering if knee replacement is overused.
Overused? Between 2000 and 2010, there was an 86 percent increase in knee replacements among men and a 100 percent increase among women. With more than 640,000 knees replaced per year, knee replacement surgery has become the most common inpatient procedure performed on people over 45.
That’s the very DEFINITION of overused!
But I’ve got a better idea: Forget replacing your knee—fix it!
You can do that with a treatment called prolotherapy.
Prolotherapy is a simple procedure that basically injects sugar water into your painful joint. That actually directs your body’s immune system to the area, where it can begin to repair some of the damage that’s leaving you in pain.
As a result, prolotherapy directly impacts the underlying condition that’s causing the pain in the first place. Unlike other treatments, which offer only short-term relief, prolotherapy offers long-term—and in some cases permanent—pain relief.
And while I’ve seen dramatic results in patients with knee pain, prolotherapy can be used to treat degenerative disorders in ANY of your joints, plus it can help with tendon issues, muscle strain, ligament sprains, meniscus tears, and even osteoarthritis!
Hands down, in my 35 years of medical practice, I’ve never seen a treatment for pain work as fast – or as well – as prolotherapy.

And that means you can’t do much moving even if you wanted to. But even if you’re dealing with arthritis pain, spending just 10 minutes a day following this simple program can...
Dear Reader, You’ve probably heard the saying, the bigger the better. While that’s NOT the case with something like your waistline, the size of your heart, or the amount of debt you’re in…it does ring true for plenty of other factors. Like your brain. It’s when your brain starts to shrink that you start having issues with memory,...
Dear Reader, The biggest crisis in modern medicine isn’t finding a cure for cancer or curbing the heart disease epidemic… It’s the looming threat of antibiotic-resistant infections. Bacteria are figuring out how to outlive antibiotics… and creating a scary future where even the most minor infection could turn deadly. But there’s good news…. Canadian researchers believe that an age-old small – but MIGHTY...
Heart disease is the number one killer in the US, and unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon. People with heart disease have a higher risk of heart attacks, strokes, and of dying sooner. And now that COVID-19 has swept the globe, the risk of heart disease is EVEN GREATER. That’s because if...
Migraines aren’t your run-of-the-mill headache that will go away with a few NSAIDs. They can cause excruciating pain, make you sensitive to light and sound, and can cause nausea and vomiting. Worse yet, Big Pharma is CLUELESS when it comes to migraines. They throw anything they can at this condition — like anti-depressants, anti-seizure drugs,...
Have you ever gotten sand in your eyes? It’s a horrible feeling, but fortunately it’s temporary. But for folks suffering from dry eyes, they often experience that in-your-eye-gritty-feeling all the time. Add in the itching and burning, the excess watering and blurred vision… it’s miserable. And if you suffer with this condition, you might find...
Stress isn’t good for your overall wellbeing. But it’s especially terrible for your heart. It increases your blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels… all of which also increase your risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes. Obviously, cutting back on stress is the best thing you can do. But the next...
If you’ve never experienced back pain, count yourself lucky. A shocking 84 percent of adults will experience back pain in their lifetime. Sometimes it’s due to arthritis, bulging discs, soft tissue damage, or compression fractures. Other times, doctors have no idea what’s causing your pain. But I’ve found that there’s often a hidden, underlying cause...
We have a lot of variety available to us when it comes to fresh produce. Still, I’m always amazed that some of the healthiest foods you can consume can’t be found in your local produce department.
