How to Prevent 25 Million Dementia Cases (WOW!)
When it comes to dementia, your best bet is not to get in in the first place since there’s currently no cure.
But you can do more than hope and pray that luck goes your way.
Researchers have identified something that could drop dementia cases worldwide by nearly one-fifth.
And as it turns out… it’s the SAME advice I’ve been giving you for years.
Researchers analyzed nearly 300,000 people to find out how their vitamin D levels impacted their risk of dementia and stroke.
They determined that low levels of vitamin D were linked to smaller brains—and increased risk of both dementia and stroke.
But more than establishing a connection, they determined that low vitamin D levels were an underlying cause of dementia.
Based on this shocking information, they estimate that up to 17 percent of dementia cases can be prevented simply by correcting low vitamin D levels.
With dementia cases projected to reach 150 million by 2050, correcting vitamin D levels has the potential to prevent more than 25 million cases of dementia over that time period.
Amazing.
Now is the time to get your vitamin D levels up to snuff, and the easiest way to do that is by spending time in the sun.
I like an app for your smartphone called D Minder.
It tells you when you can get vitamin D from the sun based on your location, and it estimates how much time you need to spend outdoors based on factors like age, skin tone, and weight.
P.S. I recently wrote about a bad habit that can raise your risk of dementia by 50 percent. Click here to read about it.
