Morning Favorite DESTROYS Brain Diseases
One of my problems with mainstream medicine is that every problem has a separate drug to treat it.
And when that drug causes side effects? They just pile on more drugs to treat them.
Nature’s approach is much more efficient – and this latest study is a perfect example of that.
A recent study has shown that ONE natural substance can combat TWO devastating brain diseases: Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.
And chances are, you’re already taking advantage of it.
I love writing about one of my favorite drinks… coffee.
Over the years, I’ve told you about studies showing that drinking coffee helps protect you against depression, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis.
It can reduce the risk of colorectal and liver cancer.
And yes… it can even help you live longer.
Now, the latest study has shown that coffee can combat two devastating brain conditions: Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia.
Parkinson’s is characterized by movement problems like shakiness, balance, and coordination. Lewy body dementia is a form of dementia that causes problems with thinking, movement, and mood.
In both conditions, there is a buildup of abnormal proteins in the brain called Lewy bodies.
In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers wanted to find out if coffee could help protect against the buildup of Lewy bodies.
To test this, they gave mice two compounds found in coffee: caffeine and EHT (something that coats the coffee bean).
Individually, the substances didn’t have any effect. But when they were combined, they “turned on” the part of the brain that STOPS the buildup of Lewy bodies.
In other words, these two substances activated a part of the brain that allows it to DESTROY an underlying cause of both Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia.
And as a result, they were able to slow or STOP the development of these devastating brain diseases.
As always, the scientists want to do more research. I think that’s a great idea.
But in the meantime, keep drinking your coffee. Your brain will thank you.
To a brighter day,
